WCHH/Baltimore Goes Top 40 As 'Z104'

November 4, 2009: Clear Channel's Alternative WCHH (Channel 104.3) is Alternative no more, making the flip to Top 40 Wednesday after a few hours playing R&B as "Charm 104.3."

WCHH will be "modeled after the many successful CHR stations under the Clear Channel umbrella, such as Z100 in New York, Hot 99.5 in Washington, DC, and KIIS in Los Angeles," the company said.

DC-Baltimore President/Market Manager Hartley Adkins said, "Baltimore is one of the rare exceptions in top 25 markets to not have a CHR format. It is finally time for listeners to be able to hear all the hits in one place, and Z104.3 is the new home for those hits. Operations manager Thea Mitchem has put together an amazing, music-intensive format that Baltimore has asked for and we know they will love."
