(SOCIAL) Make Your Social Media Matter More

Anyone can post on Facebook or other social media. Great, right? The real question is how to UP your impact and create more engagement related to improving the engagement of your product. Let's look at these opportunities.

1. Put EXPERIENCES on video and post them on your social media. Experiences trump everything else, really. People are curious, they are visual, "they" are ready for fun….always. Think of unique ways to make sure THEY are SEEING experiences that will lead them directly to your product.
2. Share your excitement about events related to your format and related to local, local, local.
3. Always try to create content that helps, informs, and entertains the audience you most want to attract to your product. Think back to when you were truly excited that XYZ was coming to town in concert or that a new product was making you itch. Be a part of the excitement for the audience you most want to attract and grow. Translate that to your social media and ask questions to get "them" more involved with you.
4. Never forget that it is your product you are working to make more engaging in the social media world. Not just that you are on a social media platform.

We have to remind ourselves all the time that radio is perceived (and largely is) a fun business. Give it to them. People want escape and fun. You do that every day.

So much is truly possible when you practice seeing things from your listener's perspective. What's important to them? How do they see your station? What do they care about? What makes them excited? There are so many ways to "live" an exciting, fun time that your listeners will love and share on social media. Go give them the fun and excitement of what is important to your audience (you most want to attract).

Do these things and you will have more engaging social media that will matter to the value of your brand or brands.
