Arbitron: Black, Hispanic PPM Targets Exceed Benchmarks In December

NEW YORK -- January 2, 2009: The Portable People Meter went live in four additional markets -- Washington, DC; Dallas, Atlanta; and Detroit -- with the December survey period, and Arbitron said that, across all 14 PPM markets, it exceeded its 6+ sample target by 8 percent, its 18-54 target by 2 percent, its black 6+ target by 6 percent, and its Hispanic 6+ targer by 14 percent.

In the eight markets that qualify for Spanish-language weighting, the Hispanic Spanish-dominant sample was over the target by 38 percent, while the English-dominant sample was over by 9 percent.

In 18-34s, Arbitron said the average across the markets was 93 percent of the target, with black 18-34s at 982 percent and Hispanic 18-34s at 101 percent of the target.

In-tab rates across all markets averaged 79 percent, 4 points over the benchmark of 75 percent.
